Your application, taken seriously.

Before Agora I was a person with a bunch of randomly put ECs and honours. Now I have a compelling narrative.

Agora teaches students to write, and works with them through university admissions. It started as one writing class at SATashkent and now runs three programs, all of them online. Some of what we sell is clerical: the university list, the Common App and the CSS Profile, the aid forms, the calendar of deadlines. A paid adult can do all of that without the application becoming false.

Most services edit your essays, and some quietly write them for you. We do neither. We will push you hard, give you blunt feedback, and make you revise more than you would like, but the words stay yours. When a reader can tell an essay was shaped by a paid adult, it tends to read that way, so the part of an application that gets worse when you hire it out is the part we teach instead.

Agora Writing

Eight weeks, sixteen sessions, two a week, plus eight hours of office hours with the head teacher. Phase one is sentences, paragraphs and argument; your personal statement does not come up until phase two. $400, or $300 if you came through SATashkent. You will revise more than you want to.

Agora Admissions

One month, eight classes, first draft to submit. Every homework gets checked rather than collected. $400, or $600 if you want five hours of one-on-one instead of two.

Agora Full Support

Full details →

The whole application, worked through with you: the school list, the deadlines, the CSS Profile, the aid forms. Thirteen mentors, one of them a former Stanford admissions officer. You can pay upfront, or in three parts: one before your acceptances, one when they arrive, the last after your visa. The price depends on how much of the application is still ahead of you, so there is no single number to publish.

Before Agora I underestimated the importance of deep thinking while crafting writing. Now, it helped me not only to build stronger essays that was one of the main factors in my acceptances, but also to consistently run a digital archive of my thoughts and experiences for myself in Obsidian and others on my Telegram blog.

During Agora, my writing felt less performative and more authentic for the first time. Later, I wrote Agora Pages. The process helped me identify the main topic for my personal statement. Even importantly, I learnt to value original thinking in the age of AI.

To me, writing is like drawing on a canvas. You use the language like a tool to influence the final picture. Before Agora, I had the ideas but didn't know how to build them. Now I actually have the tools to make them real.
